SBG Global Opening Line: North Carolina - 18.5 , Total TBA
The North Carolina Tar Heels have looked like one of the best teams in college basketball history so far this season, winning every game by at least 15 points. They are first in the country with 20.8 assists per game and second in scoring at 95.8 points per game. They have scored fewer than 80 points just once and scored 100 or more four different times. They rolled past Rutgers 97-75 on Sunday as Tyler Hansbrough had 26 points and 10 rebounds. “We’re going to have some nights where we shoot it better, and some nights where we’ll defend better and still do the job about getting them to turn it over and getting on the backboards like we did tonight.” Head coach Roy Williams said. SBG Global reports that early college basketball betting line has the public taking North Carolina Tar Heels on the Road.
Marcus Ginyard made his season debut in the win, finishing with four points, three rebounds, two steals and two assists in 11 minutes. “I’m just trying to work my way back into it,” said Ginyard, “Got a little tired out there, but hopefully that will come as I get more involved out there.”
North Carolina is not likely to get challenged by a Nevada team that has two sophomores and two freshmen in the starting lineup. They do have WAC coaches’ preseason player of the year Armon Johnson and freshman forward Luke Babbitt who might make some noise. Babbitt had 16 points in a 68-63 win over Idaho State but Johnson struggled, scoring just six points. “Our shot selection was poor,” Wolf Pack coach Mark Fox said. “We were untrusting of each other in the first half, not selfish per se, but untrusting of each other. We were lucky that we won when we didn’t play well.”
Last year the Tar Heels routed the Wolf Pack 106-70 at home as Hansbrough had 26 points while Wayne Ellington added 23. Ty Lawson had 16 points and 10 assists in that win. The Tar Heels are 3-0 all-time against the Nevada Wolf Pack. Here are more College Basketball betting stats for Wednesday’s game. The Tar Heels are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Wednesday games.
