After a year long hiatus, Greg Oden finally opens the curtains on what seems to be a very promising career. After sitting out the 2007 – 2008 NBA Regular Season with the Portland Trail Blazers, Gregg Oden made his debut in a NBA Preseason game against the Sacramento Kings. After a year of doubts and concern, Greg Oden showed the few who viewed the game why there is a beam of light shining on the Portland Trail Blazers’ future.
Although Greg Oden’s impressive showing came of a miserable Sacramento Kings team that would be expecting another slump this year, The 13 points 5 boards 2 assists and 2 blocks in a 19 minute outing is far more convincing because of the limited time Greg Oden spent on the floor.
The similarities between Greg Oden and older and well fledged all-stars are drawn as to what he was showing. The Power of Dwight Howard, shooting touch of Chris Webber, and the length of Patrick Ewing.
If all goes well for the young hopeful, expect a great year from Greg Oden and at least try to think the Portland Trail Blazers would be a contender in years to come.
