In his first game as a professional, Michael Beasley took advantage of the spotlight and made a statement to the Chicago Bulls for passing on him.
Michael Beasley, the Kansas City star who by far was criticized to be too immature and that his leadership skills may be questionable for the struggling Miami Heat who won an abysmal 15 games in the past season after winning the 2006 NBA Finals against the Dallas Mavericks.
“We’re going to beat Kansas at home. We’re going to beat them in their house. We’re going to beat them in Africa. Wherever we play, we’re going to beat them”
The statement above was released by Michael Beasley in the NCAA Basketball Men’s tournament that did no good to their match against Kansas. Decisions and statements like this are the reasons why people think little of the multi-talented Michael Beasley.
However in his first game which coincidentally was against the player who was picked ahead of him, Derrick Rose, he showcased the top form and the expected dominance of a player who is a star in the making.
In the Michael Beasley’s and Derrick Rose’s debut both had a shaky start although Michael Beasley had the momentum going and ended up doing everything in his comfort zone. He finished the game with 28 points while swiping 9 rebounds. Derrick Rose on the other hand had 10 points, 4 assists and 5 turnovers that wasn’t at all impressive.
As for the 2008-2009 NBA Regular Season is concerned I think Derrick Rose would pull a Deron Williams on the league while Michael Beasley would be true to his spectacular for. Although both are great rookies, Michael Beasley would make off with the 2009 NBA Rookie of the year award.
As for the Miami Heat, don’t fret they still would be the same only a little better as Shawn Marion still has that selfishness inside his think skull while Dwyane Wade would be another player who was at the top once or in other words, washed up and damaged.
As for the Chicago Bulls, what else would you expect from management that is thriftier than Scrooge and holds cash like they would die if they let go of even one cent.
Predictions for next year’s Season: The Boston Celtics would still be the same old dominant team while the Los Angeles Lakers would bounce back and try to take away the solid showing of their Eastern Conference Rivals. The Chicago Bulls and the Miami Heat would be 10 games better that last season.
