The 10th seeded Davidson Wildcats beat 3rd seeded Wisconsin Badgers 73-56 in the 2007-2008 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament Friday night.
Davidson Wildcats Stephen Curry scored more than 30 points for a third straight game. Davidson Wildcats Stephen Curry outscored the Badgers all by himself in the second half, 22-20. He finished with 33 points on 11-of-22 shooting, including six 3-pointers.
With the win the Davidson Wildcats advance to the finals of the Midwest Regional. Davidson Wildcats (29-6) extended the nation’s longest winning streak to 25. The Wildcats will try to make it 26 Sunday when they play top-seeded
The other game featured Kansas Jayhawks foiling Villanova Wildcats 72-57 Friday night to earn a spot in the Midwest Regional final in the 2007-2008 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.
Brandon Rush scored 16 points and Russell Robinson had 15 points to lead the Kansas Jayhawks in their attack. The Jayhawks (34-3) will be a huge favorite to end 10th-seeded Davidson’s stay in the NCAA tournament and advance to the Final Four for the first time since 2003.
Villanova Wildcats (22-13) had to know the night was doomed when star guard Scottie Reynolds shot an airball and missed another try on the opening possession of the game.

In the Southern Region of the 2007-2008 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, Texas Longhorns beat Stanford Cardinal in a blowout 82-62 to advance to the Southern Regional Finals.
D.J. Augustin of Texas Longhorns had a monster game he scored 23 points added seven assists and five rebounds while his teammates Damion James scored 18 points, A.J. Abrams added 12 and Justin Mason had seven points, eight rebounds and six assists.

Freshman Derrick Rose paced the Tigers with a 27-point, five-assist night. Derrick Rose exited early in the second half with a cut on his forehead that required medical attention, but returned to the floor with 8 1/2 minutes left and started dominating again.
