Yesterday the most anticipated game by Team USA or who we can call as the new Dream Team has dispatched Team Greece with a 92-69 win. Although the Games of Team USA against China and Angola were entertaining, this game against the Greeks was more of retribution rather than the usual parading of NBA Superstars like Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Paul.

Team USA has found the sense of urgency and the heart of a champion after bowing out in the 2004 Athens Olympics and being knocked out by Greece in the 2006 World Basketball Championships.

Despite not having an NBA Star on their team, the Greeks were very successful in exploiting the previous Team USA’s defense and controlled most of the game with sheer team basketball. This time things are different, as Team Greece committed 25 turnovers while having 7 shots blocked by the Americans.

Dwyane Wade was a testament to being the perfect sixth man. Dwyane Wade grabbed 6 steals while getting down in defense.

Communication was the key to success with this year’s Team USA. Compared to the previous compilations of NBA Superstars this team has seen the importance of talking to each other on the court which proved to be fatal for the Greeks.
